Drowning in Lilac
2019
Acrylic and ink on paper and plexiglass
30 x 60 cm
Drowning in Lilac explores ideas around sharing thoughts online through social media and anonymity. This work began as an anonymous Instagram account by the same name where the images were simply different shades of purple. In its physical form, the same visual is displayed showing squares of purple, but when the viewer looks at the back of the work, short statements are written on the backs of the squares.
