Collective Perspective is an installation that combines painting, sculpture, and audio elements to create an immersive work based on mental illness depicted through music. Twenty-one songs from a variety of genres are layered physically through paintings on clear plexiglass sheets and inside a plinth, as well as layered in a mashup of the songs. Although refined, these layers appear and sound chaotic. The layering of songs builds up peaks of different voices, rhythms, and genres coming together to display that there is no one way to experience mental illness.
